About the Role:
WBM INC is looking for a skilled FANUC Lathe Setup Technician to join our team in Wheeling, IL! This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced machinist who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate FANUC-controlled CNC lathes for production runs
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices
- Input, edit, and optimize CNC programs using FANUC controls
- Perform in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make offset adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols on the shop floor
Requirements:
- Proven experience setting up and operating FANUC CNC lathes in a production environment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and GD&T
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Strong understanding of speeds, feeds, and cutting tool selection
- Experience with G-code programming and FANUC control navigation
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and tight tolerances
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
