About the Role:
WBM INC is looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our CNC machine shop team in Wheeling, IL. This is a great opportunity to be a key part of a precision manufacturing environment where your eye for quality makes a real difference. We're hiring for both full-time and part-time schedules to fit the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect CNC machined parts and components for dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part quality
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality control records
- Identify, tag, and report non-conforming parts and coordinate with machinists on corrective actions
- Perform in-process and final inspections throughout the production workflow
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve overall product quality
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, blueprints, and internal quality standards
Requirements:
- Prior experience in quality control or inspection within a CNC or precision machining environment must
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency
- Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection documentation
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with machinists and production staff
- Flexible availability for full-time or part-time scheduling
